About You
The person we seek will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong sense of time organization and urgency, and the ability to work independently and within a team. Attention to detail and computer proficiency are integral to effective performance. You will direct and coordinate shipping personnel routines and functions to meet company objectives and standards regarding employee relations, safety, quality, efficiency, accuracy, quantity, training, and environmental compliance, serving as a positive role model to the team. Works daily to ensure assigned areas of responsibility are working with risk lowered to As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) so no injuries, illness, or negative impact occurs to employees, property, the environment, or the community. Responsible for lean initiatives and KPIs in his/her area.
Position Snapshot
A shipping and receiving lead is commonly expected to carry out responsibilities following the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Other duties may be assigned. To be successful in this role you will:
- Understands the safety equipment and safety procedures for shipping/receiving operations, to train shipping associates
- Maintains good housekeeping/neat work areas at all times
- Operates overhead cranes and lifts safely and efficiently
- Loads, Unloads, and stores material
- Monitors inventory levels by running reports and determining discrepancies
- Performs intercompany transfers as requested by sales from other plants
- Runs cycle count reports
- Effectively and willingly works with the sales and traffic department to minimize problems
- Efficiently and willingly handles other duties as assigned within the shipping department as well as the production areas.
- Performs visual quality checks of finished product
- Effectively and willingly works with production supervisors daily
- Responsible for cycle counting schedules
- Actively supports programs of improvement to develop direct reports
- Assists and provides backup for shipping personnel to include safety procedures
- Supports quality assurance programs within the facility
- Attends all meetings and scheduled inventories
- Promotes and engages teamwork
- Professional, technical, or administrative training preferred, including knowledge of quality assurance or knowledge of work-related shipping methods and techniques
- A minimum of 1-3 years previous work-related experience is required. Individual must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, develop, and manage team members
- An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.

Job Type: Full-time, 2nd shift 2 pm to 10 pm, Monday through Friday, Overtime available
