Reinforcing Drafting Technician

Position Snapshot
Performs computer-aided-design (CAD) drafting and related technical support for engineering group, with an emphasis on rebar to engineered structural mesh (ESM) reinforcement conversions and preparation of quote and fabrication drawings as necessary to support sales requirements and ESM product designs. You will perform technical work that requires thoroughness of detail and production efficiency. We are looking for a team member with a strong sense of initiative, taking a proactive position in contributing to project problem-solving and carrying out engineer directions for project detailing and presentation.

To be successful in this role you will:
  • Prepare accurate and thorough detail of ESM concrete reinforcement arrangements using Autodesk AutoCAD drawings, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, and proprietary company software packages.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of company-wide CAD drafting standards as required to promote consistency of CAD protocol among in-house users and uniformity of drawing presentation to customer.
  • Exhibit technical aptitude necessary to assist engineers in ESM conversion work and to gain familiarity with project and customer-specific detail requirements.
  • Utilize effective verbal and written communication to facilitate in-house coordination and execution of assigned work. 
  • Provide courteous customer service whenever direct interaction is required.

Qualifications to be considered for the role:
  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting and Design Technology, or related discipline.
  • AutoCAD proficiency or near-proficiency is required, as the CAD platform will serve as this position’s primary work tool. 
  • Familiarity with the reading and interpretation of construction drawings and blueprints required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is required, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.
