The person we are looking for is energetic, success driven, and has a deep operations experience. You have exemplary coaching and problem-solving skills. As a Production Crew Lead you will assist our Production Supervisor in meeting production goals. This position will prepare you for succession into the Production Supervisor role.
Position Snapshot
A Production Crew Lead is commonly expected to know the equipment and processes of the manufacturing plant. You will assist the Production Supervisor in providing leadership to the shift and meeting the company objectives in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, quantity, training, compliance and cost. To be successful in this role you will:
- Lead the “Zero Harm” initiative; work diligently to evaluate processes and procedures to determine if they are working within ALARA (risk reduced to As Low As Reasonably Achievable). Proactively suggest and champion areas for safety improvements.
- Be proactive in organizing shift management so that all employees are aware and prepared to start at their workstation on time.
- Effectively lead and motivate employees to meet shift goals (safety, quality, productivity, cost)
- Ensure expectations for employees are established and clearly understood.
- Assist Production Supervisor in preparing and verifying production reports; includes production and work orders for maintenance and employee reports regarding counseling and recognition.
- Perform accident investigations as/when required.
- Perform cycle counts on wire rod, work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods as deemed necessary.
- Lead as a role model for the company in terms of communication, motivation, and supporting all company policies/procedures.
- Provide back-up to Shift Supervisor during vacation and other absences as required.
- Provide support to Operators e.g. during changeovers or periods of Operator absence; will occasionally be required to operate certain machinery and/or equipment as required.
Requirements and Education:
- A minimum of 1 year previous work-related experience is required. Individuals must have above average interpersonal skills with the ability and proven track record of coaching and developing others.
- An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
